Berkeley Formula Racing: Behind the Scenes Tour and Q&A

October 22, 2020, 4:30 pm

5:30 pm

Berkeley Formula Racing is a club at UC Berkeley that designs, builds, and competes with a single seat race car each year, and gives students a chance to see how amazing engineering can be. We want to give as many people as possible a chance to ask questions and see what being a STEM major is all about. We’re going to give a short presentation, during which we’ll give a quick overview of what we do, including our design cycle, our testing, and our competition. Afterwards, we’ll give some information on what majoring in STEM means and what our experiences at Berkeley have been. We want students to know they can major in STEM, and we hope that our event might inspire you to think about a career in engineering.

Berkeley Formula Racing gives dedicated and passionate students an unequaled opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience. Each school year, we design, fabricate, and build a car for competition against dozens of other schools from around the USA and the world. From building and designing a chassis, to manufacturing aerodynamic elements, to building relationships with partners and so much more, our team provides its members endless venues for real-world application of knowledge learned in the classroom. Through the deeply interactive experience we offer, engaged team members become thoroughly prepared for their careers in engineering and beyond.
